My all time favorite singer is Mohd Rafi. Even as a kid I used to love his songs. Mohd Rafi is also my sister's favorite and just to tease her I used to argue with her on the superiority of Kishore Kumar over Mohd Rafi. But I don't want to compare the two here - clearly both are legends. But I am partial towards Rafi, a major factor is his voice alone. Mohd Rafi's voice was unique. I can't clearly articulate what exactly it is about his voice but it is one voice in which I can imagine any song.
Well, here is one song which I have been listening to over and over for the past few days.
Another one of my favorites - awesome music by madan mohan and awesome singing. I specially like the transition between "ek bhatke hue rahi ko" and "kaarwan mil gaya". I had to listen to that part multiple times before I could pick it up myself.
Aapke haseen rukh pe aaj naya noor hai - This song is relatively light compared to many other songs Rafi has sung, but very melodious.
Hum intezaar karenge Tere Qayamat Tak - A very touching song with just the right balance of emotion and "harkaten".
Dil ka bhanwar kare pukar - Song from the movie Tere Ghar Ke Samne. I love how soft Rafi's voice sounds in this song.
Aise to na dekho Ke humko nasha Ho Jaye - very melodious and of the era when rafi's voice sounded its best
Kahin bekhayal Hokar - Another song from Teen Deviyan

Hello, Sneha. Congratulation for your great hobby about Rafisahab. I have an acount on RAFIFOUNDATION.COM named as 'myindia'. You can show my blog shukladhaivat17.blogspot.com . Thank you Very much.....
Hello Sneha. Like I wrote on www.rafifoundation.com, your blog is a great begining. To say "My Favorite - Mohd. Rafi" from a youngster like you itself is very touchy. While we had grown up listening to his songs in the 1960s and 1970s, young Rafi-fans like you would have heard his songs much after he left us all in 1980. So also Dhaivat Shukla who has posted his comment here has a wonderful blog on Rafi Sahab. Great work folks, we love to see more and more blogs on Rafi Sahab. My own blogs are there and I give the most active one for you to visit too:

Then there is a GLOG too :

Enjoy your work on Rafi Sahab and I can assure you nothing can be more soothing.
